THE HUA STAR

The HUA Star is a 6 pointed star which reflects 6 virtues that are fundamental to a happy and successful life.

You may recognise some of these virtues within yourself already, or perhaps some are virtues you'd like to improve.

It's never too late to create the life you want. HUA!

MINDSET

You possess mental toughness which allows you to push past limits and break down barriers.

You're focused on your goals even in difficult situations and when others may doubt you.

DISCIPLINE

You have the ability to control your behaviour, emotions and actions in order to pursue your goals, values or responsibilities.

You have self control, and are able to resist impulses and distractions.

You show up consistency and do what needs to be done, even when it becomes boring, difficult or you lack motivation.

RESILIENCE

You fail but you get back up and try again - however many times it takes until you succeed. You've had setbacks, but refused to give up.

Failing can effect your self-esteem. It takes bravery to try again, despite the fear of failure. When you've failed, you've learnt a new skill, a new method, a new lesson.

INTEGRITY

Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching.

You are honest and speak the truth.

Your decisions reflect your values, even when the choice may be difficult.

People trust you because you're honest and consistently keep your promises and practice what you preach.

GROWTH

You're committed to constant growth and improvement. You acknowledge your weaknesses, ask for feedback and are willing to try new things in an effort to better yourself and those around you.

You take the time to self-reflect and learn from your mistakes.

HUMILITY

Humility is often misunderstood as shyness or being timid. This is far from the truth. True humility is a quiet confidence in who you are - it's a sign of strength.

You don't need the spotlight. You're happy to let your actions speak for themselves.

THE DESIGN

WHY THE STAR?

The HUA Star and the virtues it stands for, will mean different things to different people. Our stories are all different but we all share the same desire, to live a happy and successful life.

If you've read THE HUA STORY, you'll know that I was raised in Meremere Village, a small village that sits along side the Waikato River. Meremere (Māori) refers to Venus - the Evening Star (which was the original inspiration for the design).

Back in the day, Meremere was well known for it's impressive landmark power station with 6 chimney's (another source of inspiration for the 6 points in the star).

Being raised in the village in that era, we all felt safe, connected to everyone, we experienced joy and childhood innocence - things that are in many ways lost in today's society.

The HUA star is a tribute to all the families who were fortunate enough to have lived in Meremere Village during the age of the power station. A tribute to many who are no longer with us, and a humble thank you to those who touched and shaped my life.

Ngā mihi
